Our main service on Sunday is at 10am in the Sixth Form Centre of Bournside School. This usually lasts around an hour and a half. We begin all together in the main school hall with a couple of songs for all ages. Part of the service is aimed at involving the children (we have around 30 under 16s) before they go off to their own groups for a range of activities in nearby rooms.
We currently have about 80 adult members of the church covering a wide age range and our worship on Sundays is informal – we usually have a band leading worship, someone giving a talk for around 20 minutes and most often there will be space for questions and comments.
The fourth Sunday of each month is normally a café style service, sitting with drinks around tables, where all ages stay together. These services are shorter (about an hour) and involve videos, fun activities, interactive teaching and lots more.
Communion is on the second Sunday of the month and again is quite informal.
We try not to get too formulaic about any of our gatherings but we have an expectation that whenever and wherever we meet we will encounter God through his Holy Spirit, through the Bible and through each other.
Connection is a chance to come together for praise and worship, prayer and to listen to God. This service happens twice a month on the first and third Sundays from 7:00pm, at the URC Church, Salisbury Avenue. It lasts for about an hour and is an informal space to gather.
