30 Days of Prayer and Fasting
“Devote yourselves to prayer, being watchful and thankful.” Colossians 4:2
As we start our 30 Days of Prayer, we are listening to God for CNC – to what He is calling us to be, to increase our desire for mission, to discern our purpose and vision.
We are at the ‘what’ stage. What is God doing in Cheltenham that we at CNC can get behind and get involved in? Who are the people CNC feels called to reach? Who are the people we don’t see in CNC that we would like to see? This could be demographics/geographical locations – anything really!
Thank you to everyone who has signed up to take part. Please feedback any words or pictures to 30days@cnc.church.
It’s not too late to join in if you have 5-10 minutes each day to pray for CNC.
We are really excited about this next phase in our life at CNC as Sarah McDonald comes to join us in March. Let’s listen together to what God is saying to us as we pray for CNC in November.
Giving Group – CNC give away 10% of our income. A ‘Giving Group’ meets 4 times a year to allocate who to give to and we would love people to suggest where the money should go. We give to Christian and Non-Christian organisations, but we need people to have some connection with the charity they suggest, to give some accountability. If anyone would like to suggest a charity they would like us to give to, please see one of the giving group: Dick Tallents, Sue Brown or Bev Hughes. Thank you.
Spa Carols 7.30pm Wed 11 Dec – If anyone would like to join in with the carol evening please speak to Sarah Meade.
Trustees – An exciting opportunity to join a small team at CNC. We urgently need to recruit two new trustees to serve until the AGMs in 2022 and 2023 respectively. Trustees hold legal and financial responsibilities, and set the long-term strategy of the church. If you believe you might be called to serve as a trustee then please talk to one of the existing team. You should have been in CNC for at least 12 months, be a regular attendee of Sunday services, a member of a Connect Network, serving in the church community in other areas and giving financially to CNC where at all possible.
Mission Action Network – As a church we want to be listening to God to discern what is our part in His mission for Cheltenham. The Trustees have agreed to start an Action Network for Mission. This is open to all in CNC who would like to take part in helping discern what God is saying to us. It will be run by a core team of three or four, but if you can pray and have a heart open to what God is doing in CNC during this exciting period then this is the network for you.
Speak to a trustee or email mission@cnc.church for more info.
Beer Experience Evening – An evening with a talk from an expert and tasting of lots of different specialist beers, together with artisan breads and cheeses. Bath Road Beers – shop on the Bath Rd, Leckhampton, Tuesday 19th Nov, 7.30 – 9.30pm, £20. Please let John Robinson know if you would like to go as soon as possible. Feel free to ask a friend to come too!
